Revision as of 07:08, 2 December 2008 by Jpgordon (talk | contribs)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)This user is asking that their block be reviewed:
Moronicbajebus (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
My username does not appear to break any of the username guideline. It is not a name of a company/group. It does not contain non-latin characters. There are no known similar names. The name is not misleading in role, promotional, nor disruptive. As for the name being offensive, bajebus is a nonsensical word and moronic certainly does not seem fitting for banning with the list of other usernames allowed. Moronicbajebus (talk) 03:37, 2 December 2008 (UTC)Notes:
- In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
- Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:
{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=My username does not appear to break any of the username guideline. It is not a name of a company/group. It does not contain non-latin characters. There are no known similar names. The name is not misleading in role, promotional, nor disruptive. As for the name being offensive, bajebus is a nonsensical word and moronic certainly does not seem fitting for banning with the list of other usernames allowed. ] (]) 03:37, 2 December 2008 (UTC) |3 = ~~~~}}
If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}}
with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here
with your rationale:

I think some people would see it as being about Jesus. Look, if you really want to defend this username, I'm willing to unblock if you agree to participate in a request for comment on this name and not edit any other pages until it's resolved, and agree to set up a new account should the RFC turn out unfavorably. Are you interested? Daniel Case (talk) 04:51, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Do you really think that's necessary? "Jebus" is a running Simpsons gag, so of course it's "about" Jesus in that sense, but would you have blocked it if another euphemism had been used? Moronicbajove? Moronicbajeepers? Moronicbageewhiz? The rule isn't to prohibit things that conceivably might be offensive to someone or another; it's to prohibit things that are generally obnoxious. --jpgordon 07:08, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Misplaced Pages under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.
Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, or misleading. Also, usernames may not end with the string "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username. To do so, please follow these directions:
- Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
- At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Misplaced Pages:Changing username.
- In the alternative, you can "abandon" the contributions under this username and create a new account, which is much faster and easier.
