Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire box art

Okay, thanks for the explanation; I just tend to be a little overcautious when it comes to the removal of sourced content. Ink Runner (talk) 19:56, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Well, I guess personally, I would prefer it stay, but with your rationale, I really have no objection to its removal. Ink Runner (talk) 06:17, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

RE:SM64DS box art caption

That's true that the character images are available from the wikilinks, however, I've found that minimizing the need for the reader to leave the article is more beneficial to them. When I first started editing, I tried to make captions as short as possible. After a while, I noticed it was actually a chance to give the reader more information, and a better description was less ambiguous than the short ones I was doing.

Basically, because the image is acceptable fair use of the cover art, it isn't going anywhere. So why not use it help give the reader more context and minimize the amount of clicking they have to do? I'd much rather have them stay and read the whole article rather than jump back and forth with the possibility of not coming back.

To answer your question about other cover arts, sometimes other cover arts don't really provide much information so a lengthy caption is not needed. Myst V: End of Ages doesn't even have a caption, probably because the scenery, though very nice looking, doesn't add much extra context. Plus, it's probably one of those things someone did a couple times and others just copied it—I know that's what I based many of my first edits on, including the cover art for Kingdom Hearts. But that doesn't mean it's the best idea for every cover art. (Guyinblack25 14:50, 10 March 2009 (UTC))

Sure, feel free to ask anytime. Also, thank you for taking the time to start a discussion. Those normally resolve disagreements and confusions much faster than edit warring.
And if you have a video game question you'd like a lot of input on, you can post it at WT:VG. There's a good number of experienced editors there that can answer questions as well. Take it easy. (Guyinblack25 15:17, 11 March 2009 (UTC))

re:(Ir)relevant sentence

Hey man. Firstly, I believe the word 'respectively' belongs because the exclusive Pokémon are listed in order by generation. Also, you make a good point about its relevance. I just thought since this idea of creating a rare Pokémon became a precedent, it was relevant to put this fact there. What do you think? Cheers, Artichoker 01:07, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I already knew that you think the sentence is irrelevant, but what you think about my reasoning is what I was asking. As for 'respectively', it is used correctly because the Pokémon correlate to their respective generations. Artichoker 18:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
A WoW addict, oh no! That will drain your life away man =P. Anyways, you have convinced me that the sentence doesn't belong. I'll remove it. Cheers, Artichoker 18:02, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

re:é e é e é e é e

Titles of sources should not be altered, except to reduce all-caps. Plus I think the reader will easily realize that Pokémon is spelled with an é by reading the text of the article. Artichoker 18:00, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Good point, I agree that they should be followed by sic while quoted. Artichoker 16:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh I see, thanks for pointing out my error. Artichoker 16:40, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

re:Have a second?

Sure. Please don't hesitate to ask me these things, I am almost always willing to help. I would say you have made considerable improvement on the article; it's a good thing that you've realized how important it is to cite sources. In terms of further improvement, I would suggest that the article needs some expansion. Using the featured article Wii as a model, I think this article needs at least a 'Hardware' section and a 'Reception' section. The hardware section probably won't be too hard to write, and I'm sure there are sources out there for reception. I understand that this article doesn't have nearly much info as the Wii, but if you can get a 'History' section in there too, that would be great. Tell me if you need anything else, Artichoker 00:49, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Commas following dates (and states)

Hey there, regarding this edit, please note that (as stated in Comma#Uses under "In dates", etc.) most grammar manuals recommend commas after the year when using U.S.-style dating. I've reverted that change accordingly. Cheers! — Huntster (t@c) 08:38, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

re:Image upload help!

As I am not very experienced with media such as images, please pardon me if my advice isn't totally accurate. Judging by the Wii article, I would say that your pictures are not copyrighted, and are suitable for upload to the Commons. However, it might be best to ask on WT:VG for further clarification. Cheers, Artichoker 19:50, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Glad I could help. By the way, nice pictures. Artichoker 19:47, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
