When it rains, it... sh*ts on you...

OK, Like the previous indie guy with the band, Owen Please read the talk page for Regina Zernay, at: Talk:Méchant. She's providing her own photos, write up, notability (heck, I don't know, I'm just the infobox creator cleaning crew!) But the number of non-consecutive bands she's in-- where she's the primary, and the fact that she's not only editing her page(S) (which to me, means she's reading the instructions for using the Misplaced Pages-- unlike my old buddies, Ron Holloway (where you can look at his page and tell right where I got sick of coddling him) and User:Poetiik writing her own article, again, unknowing. You're the lady with the mop. I just scrub the floors! ;) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 04:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Hmm... Méchant does not look very notable to me, but Frog47 argues otherwise. The only admin tool that would possibly apply a speedy deletion, which I almost did, but has been previously declined. I suggest taking it to AfD. Otherwise, I suggest pointing the editor to WP:AUTO and WP:COI. LadyofShalott 15:38, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm lame, what is AFD? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:29, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Transwiki

In light of the recent events I think it might be a good time to make a new project proposal at councils and organise a project which concentrates on transferring content from other wikipedias but in a way which is much more efficient and can done with no community concerns. If I make a proposal in a day or two can you comment as I feel we both share the same view that it is important to transfer content from other wikipedias but done adequately as part of a project coordination. Dr. Blofeld 19:06, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Sure, I'd be glad to support such a project. Just point me towards it when you create it. LadyofShalott 19:10, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, I'm considering making a proposal in a day or two. If you briwse any of the other wikis particularly German, French and Dutch the amount of content missing is enormous and I think we should be doing something more large scale on here to faciliate it. Maybe a task force of the missing encyclopedia articles project or something but we needs groups of translators and well a lot of people!! P.S. I love posting on your talk page. It is like writing on a silk sheet in a lilac pen if you know what I mean. It almost looked scented! Cool! Dr. Blofeld 19:14, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

It would definitely be a good thing to increase trans-wiki cooperation, in any way we can. Thanks for the complement on my page! :) LadyofShalott 05:12, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey lady,

care to look this one over? Pluk van de Petteflet. Note the carefully templated italicization of the title...for you... Drmies (talk) 04:53, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Very nice... Too bad it hasn't been translated into English; I was thinking about looking for it in my library until I read that line. Is there any significance to the eponym? (Is it any sort of pun, or anything else interesting?) LadyofShalott 05:10, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, and thanks for filling out the talk page. Oh, the book is wonderful. They say it's for children 6-10 but I'm reading it to my three-year old and she loves it (she understands my Dutch perfectly). The title, well, there's the funny alliteration (also in the Norwegian translation), "pluk" is probably something like a tuft of hair (he's a little unruly), and "petteflet," I'm sure Schmidt invented that because it sounds so funny in Dutch ("flat," with an 'a' and pronounced as the English word means "high-rise"). The problem comes later, when it turns out that Mevrouw Helderder (Aagje's mother) enlists the help of a cat to kill Dollie the Pigeon: the cat is called the "Flattekat," with an 'a', and I never know if I should read /flatəkat/ or /flɛtekɛt/. (I chose the first.) I'm certain she's still laughing over us parents having to figure that out.

I'm going to see if the movie is on iTunes (movies are on iTunes, right?). Come by and see it! Thanks again, Drmies (talk) 06:06, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

No Pluk on iTunes...I can order the DVD, but it's code 2. Hey, if you ever get to be president, can you put a stop to that regional coding nonsense? Thanks! Drmies (talk) 04:44, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do, but seeing as how I have no plans to run for POTUS... So there's no US-compatible version of the film either? Bummer. What is the reason for those regional codes anyway? LadyofShalott 02:14, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

...ahem...

Dear Lady, I just want you to to know that I'd NEVER swap my semen; that's a lie perpetrated by my detractors. Thank you for wiping my userpage clean. Drmies (talk) 04:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. I also indefinitely blocked the harrasser, and after he started it on his talk page, protected it. I know you've had some problems before. Let me know if you want your user page semi-protected a little while. LadyofShalott 02:16, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

WikiProject TRANSWIKI

Hi. In light of recent events and community concerns about the way in which content is transferred I have proposed a new wikiproject which would attempt to address any of the concerns and done in an environment where a major group of editors work together to transfer articles from other wikipedias in the most effective way possible without BLP or referencing problems. Please offer your thoughts at the proposal and whether or not you support or oppose the idea of a wikiproject dedicated to organizing a more efficient process of getting articles in different languages translated into English. Dr. Blofeld 13:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Attention TPS'ers: Check out this idea! LadyofShalott 18:16, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Actually I did publicize the proposal at the pump afterwards, seemingly didn't get much response.... Dr. Blofeld 16:27, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Oh, well... Maybe CENT? LadyofShalott 22:51, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Homosexuality and the Baha'i Faith

Well you don't need to discuss changes unless they're controversial, but I disagree with the name change so you should go through WP:RM. The page was almost entirely written as an extension of Baha'i articles, so I think that gets more jurisdiction, if there is such a thing. The article doesn't make a distinction between lesbian, gay, or bisexual, and it doesn't address transgenderism in any way, so I took the name change as a frivolous muddying of the title. If you read the article I think you'll agree. Cuñado ☼ - Talk 01:42, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you...

...for the kind words. They are greatly appreciated.

I just needed a couple of days to back off and cool down. Though this really wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision...it's been a while brewing, and things just came to a head with the ANI. Ah, well...I'm back, now, and don't intend leaving any time soon. :-)

Once again, many thanks.

(You provide the references to Millais and Rosetti...it's 10:40 on a Monday night and I'm not sure I can tell you which end of the mirror crack'd is which.) --User:AlbertHerring 02:43, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Welcome back!! LadyofShalott 16:41, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Hiya

Low priority request; when you have a minute, check this out. I'd be interested to hear your opinion even if it's indifference :) Tiderolls 03:14, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Mopping up

Thanks very much for the fixes and clean up on aisle 9. ChildofMidnight (talk) 16:22, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

You're most welcome! BTW, was my assumption that "liquer" meant liqueur, not liquor, correct? LadyofShalott 16:39, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes. Although liqueur is a type of liquor is it not? ChildofMidnight (talk) 17:40, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
I believe that is accurate, but better to be more specific, no? LadyofShalott 17:42, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes maam. ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:07, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

I just started an article on Quercus breviloba. ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:27, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm... I'm actively working on mine, which already has significantly more info than yours. :P Care to help? LadyofShalott 18:31, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Actually, please hold off, as I really am working on expanding it right now. LadyofShalott 18:33, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay. I will try to hold off. But it will be hard. And who doesn't enjoy losing a bunch of work over an edit conflict now and again? ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
grrrrrr LadyofShalott 18:55, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for getting your version deleted. I've now moved mine to mainspace. Tweak away. LadyofShalott 19:18, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Done tweaked. My original version was quite a bit more concise, but your article does have merit in being more comprehensive. ChildofMidnight (talk) 22:49, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to you and DrMies for the tweakage. "Concise"? Yeah, "Quercus breviloba is a plant" is indeed more concise than my version. I like having at least a little content to the article though. LadyofShalott 03:42, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Michaël Zeeman

Thanks for picking up after me. So...you didn't think the article was stubby? Maybe it's off to DYK then, with you as co-creator. Drmies (talk) 22:10, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Glad to! It's brief, but definitely more than a stub. Go ahead and nom. it for DYK - you should, of course, get full credit; all I did was "tweak" it a bit. LadyofShalott 03:39, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of List of people who do not label their sexual orientation

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of people who do not label their sexual orientation. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of people who do not label their sexual orientation. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:27, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Lady

You recently commented on my new page titled Naeim Ghalili. As far as your query, no I am not Naeim Ghalili and therefore its not an autobiography. Since I'm very new at Misplaced Pages, I am sure I will make many mistakes. Please if you could kindly guide me as to how to do this properly, or what I should be doing.
--Neil62 (talk) 04:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

OK, thanks for the clarification, Neil. The similarity of your user name to Ghalili's middle name and birthyear made me suspect you were he. I'll be glad to try to answer any questions you have. I'm not sure I have any specific comments right now - you have seen the changes already that I made to the article you started. Do you have any questions? Let me know! LadyofShalott 04:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Just wanted to know if the page is properly made. And if I have violated any rules. If so what must I do to correct them. I will be asking other members to continue to build it as I am a real amateur at this.--Neil62 (talk) 12:50, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Al Roach

An article that you have been involved in editing, Al Roach, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Al Roach. Thank you. Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Majorclanger (talk) 15:52, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi Darlin'

Can you help with something (if it needs help, that is).. Take a peek at a record label; the name is spelled Aum Fidelity, but everything about it, from musicians who have recorded on it, to the infobox, and references, all scream that the spelling is wrong, should be AUM Fidelity. I assume this means a redirect, and don't normally touch those (I make too many mistakes as it is!) but it seems someone tried and wound up spelling it the same way again. Thanks. (Signed, The lady with the scrub-brush!)--Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:44, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I created a redirect from AUM Fidelity to Aum Fidelity. I'm not familiar enough with it though to know if it should be the other way around. (???) LadyofShalott 22:50, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/List of people who do not label their sexual orientation

Thanks for your helpful note at the AfD. This is an odd one. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 15:16, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. Yes, it is! LadyofShalott 15:24, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

What do you think so far? Dr. Blofeld 14:59, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

August 2009

Please refrain from creating new articles and adding article content as you did here . Doing real work makes the other Admins look bad. ChildofMidnight (talk) 15:45, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
