OK, Like the previous indie guy with the band, Owen Please read the talk page for Regina Zernay, at: Talk:Méchant. She's providing her own photos, write up, notability (heck, I don't know, I'm just the infobox creator cleaning crew!) But the number of non-consecutive bands she's in-- where she's the primary, and the fact that she's not only editing her page(S) (which to me, means she's reading the instructions for using the Misplaced Pages-- unlike my old buddies, Ron Holloway (where you can look at his page and tell right where I got sick of coddling him) and User:Poetiik writing her own article, again, unknowing. You're the lady with the mop. I just scrub the floors! ;) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 04:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... Méchant does not look very notable to me, but Frog47 argues otherwise. The only admin tool that would possibly apply a speedy deletion, which I almost did, but has been previously declined. I suggest taking it to AfD. Otherwise, I suggest pointing the editor to WP:AUTO and WP:COI. LadyofShalott15:38, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
In light of the recent events I think it might be a good time to make a new project proposal at councils and organise a project which concentrates on transferring content from other wikipedias but in a way which is much more efficient and can done with no community concerns. If I make a proposal in a day or two can you comment as I feel we both share the same view that it is important to transfer content from other wikipedias but done adequately as part of a project coordination.Dr. Blofeld19:06, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'm considering making a proposal in a day or two. If you briwse any of the other wikis particularly German, French and Dutch the amount of content missing is enormous and I think we should be doing something more large scale on here to faciliate it. Maybe a task force of the missing encyclopedia articles project or something but we needs groups of translators and well a lot of people!! P.S. I love posting on your talk page. It is like writing on a silk sheet in a lilac pen if you know what I mean. It almost looked scented! Cool!Dr. Blofeld19:14, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
It would definitely be a good thing to increase trans-wiki cooperation, in any way we can. Thanks for the complement on my page! :) LadyofShalott05:12, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Very nice... Too bad it hasn't been translated into English; I was thinking about looking for it in my library until I read that line. Is there any significance to the eponym? (Is it any sort of pun, or anything else interesting?) LadyofShalott05:10, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, and thanks for filling out the talk page. Oh, the book is wonderful. They say it's for children 6-10 but I'm reading it to my three-year old and she loves it (she understands my Dutch perfectly). The title, well, there's the funny alliteration (also in the Norwegian translation), "pluk" is probably something like a tuft of hair (he's a little unruly), and "petteflet," I'm sure Schmidt invented that because it sounds so funny in Dutch ("flat," with an 'a' and pronounced as the English word means "high-rise"). The problem comes later, when it turns out that Mevrouw Helderder (Aagje's mother) enlists the help of a cat to kill Dollie the Pigeon: the cat is called the "Flattekat," with an 'a', and I never know if I should read /flatəkat/ or /flɛtekɛt/. (I chose the first.) I'm certain she's still laughing over us parents having to figure that out.
I'm going to see if the movie is on iTunes (movies are on iTunes, right?). Come by and see it! Thanks again, Drmies (talk) 06:06, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
No Pluk on iTunes...I can order the DVD, but it's code 2. Hey, if you ever get to be president, can you put a stop to that regional coding nonsense? Thanks! Drmies (talk) 04:44, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do, but seeing as how I have no plans to run for POTUS... So there's no US-compatible version of the film either? Bummer. What is the reason for those regional codes anyway? LadyofShalott02:14, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
...ahem...
Dear Lady, I just want you to to know that I'd NEVER swap my semen; that's a lie perpetrated by my detractors. Thank you for wiping my userpage clean. Drmies (talk) 04:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome. I also indefinitely blocked the harrasser, and after he started it on his talk page, protected it. I know you've had some problems before. Let me know if you want your user page semi-protected a little while. LadyofShalott02:16, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi. In light of recent events and community concerns about the way in which content is transferred I have proposed a new wikiproject which would attempt to address any of the concerns and done in an environment where a major group of editors work together to transfer articles from other wikipedias in the most effective way possible without BLP or referencing problems. Please offer your thoughts at the proposal and whether or not you support or oppose the idea of a wikiproject dedicated to organizing a more efficient process of getting articles in different languages translated into English.Dr. Blofeld13:00, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Well you don't need to discuss changes unless they're controversial, but I disagree with the name change so you should go through WP:RM. The page was almost entirely written as an extension of Baha'i articles, so I think that gets more jurisdiction, if there is such a thing. The article doesn't make a distinction between lesbian, gay, or bisexual, and it doesn't address transgenderism in any way, so I took the name change as a frivolous muddying of the title. If you read the article I think you'll agree. Cuñado ☼ - Talk01:42, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you...
...for the kind words. They are greatly appreciated.
I just needed a couple of days to back off and cool down. Though this really wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision...it's been a while brewing, and things just came to a head with the ANI. Ah, well...I'm back, now, and don't intend leaving any time soon. :-)
Once again, many thanks.
(You provide the references to Millais and Rosetti...it's 10:40 on a Monday night and I'm not sure I can tell you which end of the mirror crack'd is which.) --User:AlbertHerring02:43, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Low priority request; when you have a minute, check this out. I'd be interested to hear your opinion even if it's indifference :) Tiderolls03:14, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay. I will try to hold off. But it will be hard. And who doesn't enjoy losing a bunch of work over an edit conflict now and again? ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks to you and DrMies for the tweakage. "Concise"? Yeah, "Quercus breviloba is a plant" is indeed more concise than my version. I like having at least a little content to the article though. LadyofShalott03:42, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for picking up after me. So...you didn't think the article was stubby? Maybe it's off to DYK then, with you as co-creator. Drmies (talk) 22:10, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Glad to! It's brief, but definitely more than a stub. Go ahead and nom. it for DYK - you should, of course, get full credit; all I did was "tweak" it a bit. LadyofShalott03:39, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
The WikiProject Novels Newsletter - July 2009
The July 2009 issue of the Novels WikiProject newsletter has been published. You may read the newsletter, change the format in which future issues will be delivered to you, or unsubscribe from this notification by following the link. Thank you. Alan16(talk)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of people who do not label their sexual orientation. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Misplaced Pages's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Misplaced Pages is not").
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:27, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi Lady
You recently commented on my new page titled Naeim Ghalili. As far as your query, no I am not Naeim Ghalili and therefore its not an autobiography.
Since I'm very new at Misplaced Pages, I am sure I will make many mistakes. Please if you could kindly guide me as to how to do this properly, or what I should be doing. --Neil62 (talk) 04:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
OK, thanks for the clarification, Neil. The similarity of your user name to Ghalili's middle name and birthyear made me suspect you were he. I'll be glad to try to answer any questions you have. I'm not sure I have any specific comments right now - you have seen the changes already that I made to the article you started. Do you have any questions? Let me know! LadyofShalott04:24, 29 July 2009 (UTC) Just wanted to know if the page is properly made. And if I have violated any rules. If so what must I do to correct them. I will be asking other members to continue to build it as I am a real amateur at this.--Neil62 (talk) 12:50, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Can you help with something (if it needs help, that is).. Take a peek at a record label; the name is spelled Aum Fidelity, but everything about it, from musicians who have recorded on it, to the infobox, and references, all scream that the spelling is wrong, should be AUM Fidelity. I assume this means a redirect, and don't normally touch those (I make too many mistakes as it is!) but it seems someone tried and wound up spelling it the same way again. Thanks. (Signed, The lady with the scrub-brush!)--Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:44, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Very good start - now we need to a couple categories for article creation like discussed on the project talk page. LadyofShalott16:29, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Please refrain from creating new articles and adding article content as you did here . Doing real work makes the other Admins look bad. ChildofMidnight (talk) 15:45, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Please refrain from telling others to refrain from creating new articles and adding article content as you did here. Leaving humorous messages makes the unfunny editors look bad. APKthat's not my name17:05, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Technically this warning should go on my page. And be careful about accusing me of being funny (except maybe funny looking). There are undoubtedly those who are incensed and outraged at my suggestion that admin duties don't amount to real work (another instance in a long line of outrageous incivility). And several people make it a habit of getting hopping mad when I make subtle critiques and engage in unhelpful and unconstructive sarcasm. Don't get caught in the crossfire!
Are you going to add those nice drawings from the government website to LoS's plant articles? I think they look cool and are very encyclopedic (some could also be added to the botanist article on the beach of the plants the guy described). And kudos to y'all for the good work on some nice articles. They're not bacon related, but they seem good otherwise. ChildofMidnight (talk) 18:00, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I was going to leave the "warning" on your page, but daft talk page stalkers may have interpreted it as a serious message. I can upload the drawings/images (I just uploaded my 1000th picture on Commons. Yay?), but where are they located and which articles are you referring to? The kudos belongs to Lady; I'm just a big fairy. "y'all" reminds me of my hometown - I miss North CackalackyAPKthat's not my name18:59, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Need I remind you that referring in the abstract to clueless buggers and troublemakers as daft talk page stalkers may violate some admin's interpretation of NPA or the incivilty guidelines? I think an illustration or two of the plants described by this botanist User:LadyofShalott/Duncan might be nice to add to his article (or maybe the photos of the plants would be better?). To this point it is without illustration or photograph of any kind. Maybe there is a photo floating around of the herbarium??? The plant articles I was referring to are Quercus breviloba, Baptisia arachnifera and Viburnum_rufidulum. I think a combination of photos and those nice illustrations from the USDA (tax dollars at work for the public good!) would be pleasing to the eye and useful for identification purposes. But maybe LoS has other ideas. I hear she likes mirror images? ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Oh and hearty congratulations on your 1,000th photo upload! That's a very impressive accomplishment. A picture is worth a 1,000 words. ChildofMidnight (talk) 19:28, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
I echo the congrats on 1000 uploads of pictures, APK - that's a major contribution! CoM, I like your idea of adding images of the plants Duncan discovered to his article. That would certainly improve it. Thanks for the kudos on the articles. LadyofShalott04:19, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
I see now that some of the newest plant articles don't have photos on the USDA site and that you're way ahead of me in raiding what photos are available from the USDA? ALthough Viburnum rufidulum could use a nice flower shot . Nevermind then... I guess. :) You're welcome for the kudos. Can you believe you just caused an edit conflict! Nothing to say all day, and right when I'm posting this update BLAMMO!!! Here you come. ChildofMidnight (talk) 04:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
P.S., it's Quercus oglethorpensis, not Q. breviloba, that Duncan first described. That article is a very short stub. Expanding it is on my mental to-do list. I also need to mention in his article the fact that all three of those species are endangered. LadyofShalott04:27, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Nice find of the V. rufidulum flower picture! "Any use of copyrighted images requires notification of the copyright holder." It does say copyright. APK, know if we can we use that here? LadyofShalott04:34, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
My whole world is turned upside down. First I find out the USDA doesn't have drawings and photographs of some very important species. And now you tell me that the USDA is using copyrighted images on their website. When is the change I can believe in coming? Better get your hiking shoes on. You're on a mission. Let's see, we need photos of the herbarium and these endangered species. If you're lucky maybe they have some in the herbarium, but I doubt it. It's probably gone to shit now that Duncan has left the scene. I'll be they're too busy breeding peaches and peanuts for commercial interests to bother with nature. What is the world coming to?
