He took the surname Brown from the Black Panther, H. Rap Brown. His music is a mixture of Brazilian and rock and soul music. Apart from his solo work, he has collaborated with Marisa Monte. He contributed vocals to the Sepultura song "Ratamahatta" on the album Roots.
