Wow
"It's very striking that Misplaced Pages, a project founded on libertarian principles, shares a major characterstic with Communism, in that they both intentionally ignore a major aspect of human psychology, the urge toward ownership..." Ed, I'm always impressed by your stuff, and some of your insights are just astonishing. Wow. Keep writing please; don't let them grind you down. All the best, Antandrus (talk) 22:35, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

WorldNetDaily RS/N
I have recently referenced your comments offered in the RS/N discussion(s) on WorldNetDaily WP:RS considerations within a related issue being discussed in the RS/N "talk" page. This message is to notify you of that reference and to both solicit and encourage any contribution you might have in this matter. Thanks. --JakeInJoisey (talk) 18:16, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I am new here
Can you show me around? Wobble2600 (talk) 20:55, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- No, Grundle2600, I will not. Beyond My Ken (talk) 21:19, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Xeno beat me to it, but as I suspected, it was an impostor account trying to get Grundle into further trouble. That's the pattern demonstrated by the user Pioneercourthouse and also Pickmanbothlol, who for all I know might actually be the same guy, except I don't care (WP:DENY). ←Baseball Bugs carrots→ 02:00, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- I wondered about that -- I mean, "Hello, I'm new here, show me around?" seemed a bit too obvious. Either way, though, not someone we really need to keep around. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:15, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- A lot of these guys don't mind getting caught, in fact the game they're playing is to so how long it takes to get caught. There was a PCH sock here last fall who created an anagram of his name and even tried to drop hints about it, editing articles on anagrams and talking about anagrams. It was a month until I caught on. But I did have homework to do, which ate up a lot of my time. :) ←Baseball Bugs carrots→ 02:53, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- You know, I've long had the feeling that a lot of people – and not just the kind of editors we're talking about here – see Misplaced Pages as some kind of MMORPG, as opposed to a project seriously trying to create a viable encyclopedia. Even editors who are good contributors indulge in a degree of this, with barnstars and contests and awards and so on, but its the vandals and puppetmasters who thrive on playing the game. One wonders what they will think of their (presumably) childish activities once they grow up a little. Will they be chagrined when they realize that they made things more difficult for people just trying to do their best to help the project?
I've never understood why every online community isn't crawling with sociologists and social psychologists studying the very strange behavior of the natives, it would seem to me to be really fertile material. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:30, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- Funny you should mention that, as I've had a similar theory, namely that Wales himself is conducting a gigantic social experiment, maybe for his doctoral thesis or something. ←Baseball Bugs carrots→ 03:37, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
- lol. A very interesting thought. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:48, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
