Elke Reva Sudin (born 1987) is an American Artist and Illustrator. In 2010 her "Hipsters and Hassids" painting series premiered in New York City, calming tensions between Hassidic Jewish and Hipster culture.


Biography

Elke Reva Sudin was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 2005 she attended Pratt Institute where she earned a B.F.A in Illustration. After graduating in 2009 she pursued a fine art career gaining recognition for her portraits of World Boxing Association super welterweight champion boxer Yuri Foreman and her “Hipsters and Hassids” painting series. These boxing portraits were shown at the DUMBO “Art Under the Bridge Festival” in 2009 at world famous boxing establishment, Gleason's Gym. Sudin's “Hipsters and Hassids” series depicts similarities between the disparate cultural groups in Williamsburg, Brooklyn best known for feuding over the Bedford Avenue bike lanes.
