The Sun is a monthly American magazine of essays, interviews, short stories, poems, and photography.
In 1974, Sy Safransky began publishing the Chapel Hill Sun and selling copies for $0.25 each.
In an interview with Michael Miner of the Chicago Reader, Sy Safransky explained that he intends to make all past issues available, but that the logistics had not yet been resolved.
When asked about the trend of print media to go entirely electronic, Safransky says, "I’d no sooner abandon print than throw someone I love overboard in a storm-tossed sea."
