Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes also known as Lego Batman 2 is an upcoming 2012 Lego action-adventure video game currently being developed by Traveller's Tales, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. The game is a sequel to Lego Batman: The Videogame. A large variety of playable DC characters within the Batman continuity and outside it will be playable characters. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will feature dialogue, which was absent in the previous Lego Batman video game. The game is scheduled to release in North America on 19 June 2012.

Premise

The plot will involve the Dynamic Duo (Batman and Robin) teaming up with the Justice League when the Joker forms an alliance with Lex Luthor.

Gameplay

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will feature an open world concept. The game will feature gameplay similar to its predecessor, Lego Batman: The Videogame, but allowing players to play as classic Batman characters and other various DC Comics superheroes, such as Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Aquaman, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman. There will be over 70 playable characters. New gadgets such as Robin's Hazard Cannon, Superman's heat vision, and a Power Suit for Batman have been announced. The game will feature an optional 2-player cooperative play. Cooperative play will now feature a split screen due to the game having an open-world environment.

Development and marketing

A promo for the game was leaked online by Lego fansite, Bricktuts. On 15 March 2012, the game's first reveal trailer featuring gameplay for Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes was released to the public. During the 2012 Game Developers Conference a 45-minute demo of the game was limited to eyes-on only.

Audio

Lego Batman 2 is the first game in TT Games' Lego series to feature full voice acting, as opposed to the mime acting of previous titles. The voice actor of Lex Luthor, the archenemy of Superman is confirmed to be actor Clancy Brown reprising his role from the DC Animated Universe. Troy Baker will reprise his role as Two-Face from Batman: Arkham City. The Joker and Bane will be both voiced by Steven Blum. Rob Paulsen has been confirmed to voice The Riddler.
