Teneo is an independent advisory firm that offers strategic communications, investment banking, business intelligence and restructuring services.

General

Teneo was founded in 2011 by three partners, Declan Kelly (former U.S. Special Envoy to Northern Ireland, U.S. CEO of Financial Dynamics, and EVP & CIO of FTI Consulting), Doug Band (Counselor to President William Jefferson Clinton) and Paul Keary (former Senior Managing Director of FTI Consulting).

The firm is headquartered in New York City, with offices in Washington DC, São Paulo, London, Dublin, Dubai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Zurich, and Melbourne. The firm has over 190 employees.

Involvement in Politics

Bill Clinton was a paid adviser to Teneo, along with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Clinton ended his relationship with Teneo on February 2012.

During the latter half of 2012, Huma Abedin was working as a paid consultant for Teneo while also working as special government employee for U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. In July 2013 Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) initiated investigation of Abedin’s activities and pay.
