A top secret description of the capabilities of RAGEMASTER was released on December 30, 2013, by the German news magazine Der Spiegel

RAGEMASTER refers to a hardware implant that functions as a "continuous wave generator" to enable the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to watch what is being displayed on a monitor via the VGA connector.

Disclosure

The original documents are dated 2008-07-24, and state that RAGEMASTER devices are already operational and available to USA nationals and members of the Five Eyes alliance.

The capabilities of RAGEMASTER were detailed in a set of documents published by the German news magazine Der Spiegel on 2013-12-30, concurrent with Jacob Appelbaum's talk at the 30th Chaos Communications Conference.

Operational details

The device functions as a "continuous wave generator" that enables the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to watch what is being displayed on a monitor via the VGA connector. It is compatible with most of the NSA's monitoring laptops.
