Solas nua ('new light' in Irish) is a Washington DC based Irish contemporary arts organization, founded in 2005. It is based at the Flashpoint gallery in Washington. It only performs plays that were written within the last fifteen years. Many of the performances attempt to combat commonly held stereotypes about Ireland. One such play is 'Swampoodle', a play by Tom Swift about life in the Swampoodle neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was produced by Solas nua with support from the Performance Corporation. It consists of colorful, disparate stories about life in the predominantly Irish neighborhood.

Solas nua was founded by Linda Murray, a former curator at the Library of Congress.
