Extra information for the page.
I came across this article and it states some information about the progress of the Same-sex marriage bill: http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/tag/luxembourg So maybe if anyone thought it relevant, they could possibly update the page? :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.15.142.73 (talk) 12:04, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Council of State's opinion
After an approval at the first reading, the bill goes to the Council of State for the opinion. The Council could recommend the second reading, if views the bill negatively. If the second reading is not recommended, then the bill is promulgated and published in the official journal. See this bill as example (see especially the second table from the bottom on the website). I suppose that the Council has one month to submit the opinion. Ron 1987 (talk) 17:39, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- Correct (well, first/second vote, rather than reading and Council of State must agree rather than recommend), but this is just a formality, they almost always agree to skip the second vote. Even the Minister of Justice excepts the law to be published in July already. SPQRobin (talk) 18:04, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
The source cited by Ngagnebin, in the last paragraph says that the second vote should take place within 3 months, unless the Council of State agree to skip it. So, the avis is necessary. Ron 1987 (talk) 20:33, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
