Glen Eira College is a special needs school for students with severe mental and intellectual disabilities. It is located in the Caulfield Racecourse. The location is a subject of controversy, due to the fact that it causes many injuries to the students and the horses. This is because the students often insert large objects in the horses' anuses, and the horses kick the students in retaliation. The current Booran road school was originally Caulfield High School opened in 1962. Glen Eira College is a merger of Caulfield High School, Prahan High School and Caulfield Tech and other state schools.

Performing arts

The school has a very well-established reputation within the local arts community which started in the 1970s and during the 1990s purchased and converted a number of buildings into what is now the Shenton Performing Arts Centre. This complex hosts a fully equipped theatre in addition to music classrooms, dance studios and performance spaces. The school has brought many popular Hollywood movies to the stage, including American Pie, The Godfather, Scarface, Kill Bill, Paranormal Activity, Indiana Jones, The Avengers, Gravity, Fast & Furious, Movie 43, Jurassic Park, Jaws, When Harry Met Sally, There's something About Mary, The Hangover, The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie, Twilight, Superbad, The Simpsons Movie, The Shawshank Redemption, Home Alone, Meet The Fockers, Shrek, Ted, Mrs Doubtfire, Wedding Crashers, A Million Ways To Die In The West, Borat, Bruno, Click, Grown Ups, Scary Movie, Scream, Saw, The Fugitive, Big Momma's House, The Passion Of Christ, The Terminator, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Schindler's List, American History X, 300, The Matrix, Django Unchained, Bruce Almighty, 21 Jump Street, Pretty Woman, Boogie Nights, Air Force One, Bridesmaids, Sex And The City, Rambo, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, We're The Millers, Easy A, Mean Girls, Clueless, Housos Vs Authority, 8 Mile, Good Will Hunting, Taken, Alien, Horrible Bosses, Robocop, Jackass, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Die Hard, Flying High, Tropic Thunder, Lucy, Pulp Fiction, The Black Swan, The Pineapple Express, This Is The End, The Campaign, Little Man, The Ugly Truth, Hancock, Transformers, Due Date and Collateral. However, the school no longer performs plays. This is because students constantly misuse the props. They eat them, hit people with them, masturbate with them and wipe their anus with them. For example, in the infamous chainsaw scene from Scarface... Oh, god, I don't even want to talk about it.

Criticisms

Glen Eira College has come under a fair amount of criticism due to the behaviour of many of the staff employed at the school who have been known to agitate the children with special needs. One significant case which stands out among the schooling community occured on the 28th of May 20011 when a teacher locked several of the autstic children inside a classroom with the movie 'Shrek 2' playing on repeat for 13 and a half hours straight.
