Again Aimar, please leave the runner-up stuff be OK? In cases like Copa América or the FIFA World Cup, even third-places count.
Thanks --84.90.219.128 (talk) 19:47, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
- More: I noticed you removed the runner-up honours in club, but not in national team. That's not coherent, if the runner-up stuff with the player's country counts, do does the club stuff. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 19:52, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
I also remember a WP:FOOTY discussion where you said (for example) that FC Barcelona finished runner-up three times at the FIFA Club World Cup, and that that deserved mention in the players' articles. I agree with you 100%, why the change in opinion? --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:25, 7 January 2015 (UTC)
Even more strange in Carlos Martins (footballer), there you removed some (club) runner-up stuff and not other club stuff. Can you please explain me this logic because I don't understand a thing? Thanks in advance. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 00:38, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- Read below. When did I remove any Copa América or FIFA World Cup?
- National team runners-up are international, which are superior to any club domestic runners-up.
- Because those domestic runners-up are not that important. Maybe they should be listed when a player doesn't win a domestic trophy, for example, if Carlos Martins wins a Portuguese cup the runners-up should be removed. SLBedit (talk) 11:22, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- My original intention was to remove the domestic runners-up when international runners-up (Europa League) are listed. SLBedit (talk) 11:27, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
1 - not watchlisting your edits, and not ONCE have I checked your list of contributions. However, I could ask the same question to you, sometimes it looks like that (well, I was sincere, now please be also sincere). It's obvious our edits will sometimes cross because we operate mainly on Portuguese football, that is all. I follow only the edits of vandals, and not that much anymore. I would also like to know, if possible, why do you accuse me of stalking you.
2 - the honours reasoning you offer has no logic with all due respect, ALL runner-up finishes mean the same (second place, medal awarded). What I know is there is this particular administrator that removes ALL honours if they are not referenced, including first-places, but I have never ever had a problem when inserting runner-up stuff in players' articles, until now that is.
3 - Vítor Pereira (football manager): 1 - "winning" should go inside the 2012-13 season wikilink because it talks precisely of that, winning the tournament, if you leave winning out it only contains the words "league title"; 2 - quite pedantic to be repeating foreign names all the time (in this case Primeira Liga; and when I say "pedantic" I don't mean you exclusively, I have seen that in hundreds of articles. Again I stress, when I compose that part of storyline, no one has ever given me any kind of trouble before. And please don't tell me "Primeira Liga" is the name of the article, Maxi Pereira is the name of the article but sometimes we write just "Pereira" in storyline, Chicago Bulls is the name of the article but sometimes we write just "the Bulls" in storyline, etc, etc), but guess what? You win again, I see I am not allowed to contribute with anything to the article that moves one inch from the "established" patterns. That is, I could, but I am not interested one bit in edit wars, I guess i'll have to be reverted just because and deal with it; I accepted most of your changes in Pereira's article (box spacings, links spacings, etc), you accepted nothing other than my box additions for his playing career.

- Still speaking of #3: can't we reach a compromise? I have respected pretty much all your additions to the article, can't you "allow" me to write Portuguese League instead of Primeira Liga? --84.90.219.128 (talk) 22:25, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
And sorry, only now have seen you asking me on my page to give input at a WP:FOOTY discussion, have done so. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 23:58, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- 1 - I have lots of articles in my watchlist.
- 2 - Runners-up are not that important.
- 3 - "Winning" shouln't be linked. We shouldn't write "tournament" when the reference calls it a "league".
- Done "Portuguese league". SLBedit (talk) 10:34, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for reinstating some runners-up honours. SLBedit (talk) 10:42, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you too for the teamwork, sorry for my exaggerations --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:14, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
IP vandal
@Drmies: IP vandal (81.193.1.124, calling me dumbass) is back, now on André Gomes. SLBedit (talk) 14:44, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- SLBedit, please take your issues to the appropriate noticeboard(s) and do not disrupt AIV to make a point. Thanks. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:14, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Adding categories
i.e. at Jorge Rojas (footballer) - have you used WP:HOTCAT? You might find it easier. GiantSnowman 16:54, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: No, but it's also easy to add manually. SLBedit (talk) 16:57, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: The spacing added between categories and stub template was on purpose. Should I remove it? SLBedit (talk) 12:00, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- No, it's fine. GiantSnowman 12:42, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
WP:FOOTY - honours
Have re-replied there, only saw your message now. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 18:45, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- No consensus from what I see, still. I repeat, I will never add runner-up finishes in the league, if there is no consensus I am not doing anything wiki-illegal. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 20:40, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128: Me neither. SLBedit (talk) 20:41, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
No, did not say you were. By the way, which is your opinion, do you prefer runner-up in leagues or not? I repeat, they don't give medals to that, other than the example I showed you (England), that should not be an honour, but I'd like to hear your opinion. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 21:19, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- No, I don't. SLBedit (talk) 13:25, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- @84.90.219.128: Do you think Roderick Miranda should include 2009–10 Primeira Liga in honours? He played one match as a substitute (90m). SLBedit (talk) 22:46, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Sorry for seeing this late (anon IPs don't receive notifications when others ping their names in other pages, you have to have an account for that). I have already added it to Roderick's page, 90 minutes suffice for the honour in Portugal (even ONE). --84.90.219.128 (talk) 15:39, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
Oops, correction! I saw it better and you are in error my fellow user, he only played in the Taça da Liga and the UEFA Europa League that season (2009/10), one game apiece, was an unused substitute in two domestic league matches. --84.90.219.128 (talk) 15:42, 13 January 2015 (UTC)
SL Benfica
Quote: ""Benfica is the second-biggest club in the world, after Bayern Munich" means that it is the third biggest. "Benfica is the biggest club in the world after/behind Bayern Munich" means it's the second-biggest."
No, that's not the meaning of that sentence. In case you didn't notice, there is a comma between the two parts of the sentence; one part says that SL Benfica is the second-biggest club in the world, the other part says that they are ranked after Bayern Munich. You're pretty obsessive about this, aren't you? Wackelkopp (talk) 18:57, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Wackelkopp: There was a double meaning, now there isn't. No, I'm not that's why I alerted you. SLBedit (talk) 19:00, 10 January 2015 (UTC)
Fernando Aguiar
Yes, unreliable. ForaDeJogo does not have the word "retired" still in his profile, so it's better if we leave his introduction as it stands ("...is a Portuguese footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder."), I guess at his age it won't take long for him to retire definitely, but then you look at this guy...
