However, if you even so much as think you smell this guy, please let me know. His destruction and damage is nearly incaluculable. Thanks for letting me know and believe me, asking about something like this is not a bother. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Did you realise
That both Mario Payne and Copperman were the same editor, both socks of David Beals? Payne was reverting Copperman, but that's not unusual, and Copperman's posts, particularly on talk page, should have been reverted. Article pages are different, although anyone reinstating a sock edit is then responsible for that edit. Dougweller (talk) 11:35, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for filling me in Dougweller. I did not know about the connection at the time. The info well help when I bump into them in the future. MarnetteD|Talk 16:34, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
In the Loop
Hello ever-helpful Wikipedian! I thought you may be interested to know that I've blocked this IP. It's dynamic, of course, but I've unconventionally blocked the person behind the IP so that they can be quickly blocked for block evasion/continued disruptive editing when they pop up again. Pinging Betty Logan as I believe they've been involved with this user's shenanigans as well. Have a delightful weekend, --Jezebel's Ponyo 20:26, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the update and for your efforts Ponyo. For several months they were only hitting film and TV articles with Spartacus being the one that was almost always on their rounds. Unfortunately, the latest IP 81.155.98.249 (talk · contribs) moved on to historical articles. I'll keep an eye out for future editing by this person. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend as well!! MarnetteD|Talk 20:35, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
User:24.186.96.236
Regarding your AIV report about 24.186.96.236 (talk · contribs): I could not easily determine if some of their edit s were worth retaining. Could you therefore review and rollback the ones that were clearly disruptive? Abecedare (talk) 19:30, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message Abecedare. Now that I have had a chance to review more of their edits I see what you are talking about. I will continue to go through them as I get the time. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 19:34, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
David Copperfield
Hi MarnetteD -
Sorry for marking my edit as 'minor'; I meant to click 'watch' and hit the wrong button. About the gross edit, is there a problem if I cut it down and reinsert it? I opine that the original plot missed out some key details, as well as being terse enough to be slightly misleading; especially in the second last paragraph of the summary. Thanks, De la Marck (talk) 22:40, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message De la Marck. The problem with expanding the plot is that if what is important to each reader is included the section can wind up as long, or longer, than the original book. Also, what is important to you may not be what is important to another person who has read the book. Now, I am not saying that the plot shouldn't be edited at all but WP:PLOT is the guideline to follow when working on those sections. An old adage that is a good rule of thumb (an adage within an adage there) to use is "Less is More" - in other words take what you think is important and then pare it down and then pare it down again. One idea is to tinker with it in your sandbox until you get it to a spot that you are happy with it and then add it to the article but that is just a suggetion. Cheers and happy editing. Northern Ireland IP's
Hello MarnetteD, Many thanks for adding the link to my message to Ponyo. I must confess to being so cross that this strange "editor" had again re-surfaced, that I completely forgot to add the link. I am concerned with this "editor"'s attitude, but cannot see how they can stopped without blocking a host of IP's. Regards, David, David J Johnson (talk) 21:17, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- You are welcome David J Johnson and it looks like I was posting a message on your talk page at the same time you were writing this :-) Thanks again for all that you are doing in this situation as well as your other work here at WikiP. MarnetteD|Talk 21:22, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Wayne Allwine
Listen MarnetteD, I know that you already told me never to reply to your talk page ever again. But the reason why I'm replying is because I made the Allwine article a lot better now, and I made it look like just like the way you want it too bee. So, as of all that it goes now, I actually get what you mean now. I just couldn't understand of all this confusion I've been having with this for a month, and I'm also sorry if I got all aggravated with it, and I also apologize for calling you "crazy" too, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean too say that to you. I really hope you appreciate it the way it looks now, I did my best to make the way you wanted it to be. FrozenFan2 (talk) 23:40, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
P.S. Also, this is my last message on your page, because you already told me never to reply to your talk page again. And I'll do what you say, I won't reply too your talk page again. FrozenFan2 (talk) 23:42, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi MarnetteD! Hope you are well. I have been off Misplaced Pages a lot lately, but thought of you today and wondered what you were up to. I see you still keep an eye on the George Harrison article.
I was also wondering if you wanted to review any of the articles I have made available to be reviewed for GA. It would be good to work with you again. If you are interested, go to Misplaced Pages:Good article nominations and search for my username. I have two left still needing to be reviewed by a good reviewer (I wrote both of them from scratch). If you are not interested, that's okay too, I'm just throwing it out there. Cheers. Prhartcom (talk) 17:18, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note Prhartcom. It is great to hear from you and I hope you are well also! Life off-wiki is a bit of a mess but I will be happy to take a look if I get the time. Best regards to ya!! MarnetteD|Talk 17:42, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Amelia Bence
Please feel free to change whatever. It needs a good proofing. Took me 2 days to translate the whole thing and find sourcing for what I couldn't access from the Spanish site. I am blinded by it all. I sort of left the plays in " " rather than italics thinking that I might go back and put them in a list. But was just so glad to get the last part of the translation done, after 2 days that I left it. My brain and my fingers needed a rest. SusunW (talk) 01:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for you message SusunW. First off I now realize I spelled your username incorrectly in my edit summary - my apologies. I took a very brief skim through things before heading off to my Sunday evening viewing. There are four different programs that I am hooked on at the moment. I noticed more plays but didn't have time to alter them all. I'll try to get back to the article when I have a chance but the early part of this week in RL is going to be a pain. Once again congrats on all your work and I hope that you enjoy the rest you so richly deserve. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 04:23, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
DR correction
Thanks for fixing those annoying "hanging references". I've been on the page the last few days in a DR with another editor who thinks there is a dispute, even though consensus was reached and compromises offered. Those references hanging at the bottom were a pain in the ass. Onel5969 (talk) 00:36, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
- You are welcome Onel5969. I think it is almost a year now that we have had to add that template to keep refs with the section of a talk page where they are used. So many editors add a ref to their comments and then never pay attention to the fact that they keep moving to the bottom of the page. Mind you there is no reason for them to know about the situation - changes keep happening to the way things work and us editors in the trenches are rarely informed about them :-) Now the whole thing is avoidable if people just use single brackets but I am not complaining. As a wikignome adding the template is right up my alley. Cheers to ya and have a delightful weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 01:40, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

The trick is to find some maintenance category, somewhere that errors get listed but nobody else bothers with, and knock off as many as you can. One column of a full cat page is about 67 pages, so 8 columns should see you right. - I've not seen it, but I've read the book - or at least, the Dean & Son abridged edition of the early 1970s (ISBN 0-603-03032-7). It's chapter V "Rugby and Football", and the part where East describes how the game is played shows where terms like "try" and "touch" come from. --Redrose64 (talk) 09:48, 28 June 2015 (UTC)|

I watched, regardless of who was playing whom, every match of the previous Rugby union World Cup, in spite of the time difference between Blighty and where the Kiwis live—the benefit of retirement—and intend doing the same this autumn/fall. I have done some Copy-editing ... I think the intention was that he was not "centre stage" ... rather pointless, so I have removed it. No reason that he might have been "centre stage".. What do you think of it now? — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 12:30, 28 June 2015 (UTC)- Looks like there was a lot of fun while I was asleep - typical. My first encounter with TB was this TV version Tom Brown's Schooldays (TV serial). That would lead to (as happened so often with programs shown on Masterpiece Theatre) my reading the book. I can't remember when I saw my first rugby match but it would have been in the 70s as well and had to have been shown on ABC's Wide World of Sports. S Gareth and Redrose have been very helpful in keeping me up to date on specifics in the sport and events like the Six Nations Championship. To add some clarification to one of Gareth's earlier posts - he is referring to the fact that the 2011 World Cup was held in New Zealand thus we had to be up at all hours to see the matches. This one, being in England, will be much easier on our sleep patterns :-) Gareth I just checked and it looks like we well be getting nine matches on our regular cable but all will be available on live streaming so that is good news. Cheers to all. MarnetteD|Talk 14:04, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

I would like to know why anyone should bother to edit Misplaced Pages if a sad bigot like you is going to remove their work, even if it is correct, relevant and with an appropriate reference.
Doctor Who is not just on TV, it is also a radio series, many novels, comics etc, all of which are relevant and appreciated by fandom. Gothaparduskerialldrapolatkh (talk) 14:57, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
