Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better expand and organise information in articles related to the sport of cricket. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.

WikiProject on Cricket

Scope

This WikiProject aims to:

  • Increase the number of well-written cricket related articles
  • Expand and improve other cricket related articles
  • Ensure that all cricket related articles can be easily found by interested readers
  • Keep Current sports events up to date for international matches and when Championships and Trophies are decided in the Test playing nations
  • Keep Recent deaths and Current sports events up to date when notable cricketers die. (As usually there are newspaper obituaries written when a cricketer dies, it is also an opportunity to write up and improve the Misplaced Pages article on that cricketer.)

Structure

Hierarchy definition

The main cricket page is, appropriately enough Cricket. There is also a category called "Cricket" too. It should be possible to go to any cricket-related article from either the cricket page or the cricket category.

Goals

Write up full articles on:

  1. each test playing and ODI playing nation
  2. each first class team
  3. the greatest cricketers past and present
  4. each test ground
  5. the various cricket controversies

To improve:

  1. Articles on the laws of the game
  2. Articles on key definitions, such as: test matches, one-day internationals, first-class cricket
