Dinosaur Hill Park (also known as Dino Hill) is a popular park in Pleasant Hill, California. Located off Taylor Blvd, the park includes 13 acres of open space, hiking, and scenic views. There is a small parking area accessible only by northbound traffic. From here a staircase and railroad tie steps lead to the top of the hill. This park offers one of the best views of Mount Diablo in the region. From here one can view the suburbanized valley containing Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek and the northern reach of the Diablo Range.
Etymology
The hill is named for a fallen oak tree, now long rotted away, said to have resembled a dinosaur.
