Clans regulate marriage alliances. Their clans namely Masaniamman Kulam, Kurupparayan Kulam, Ankalamman Kulam, Adi Kaliamman Kulam, Maduraiveeran Kulam and Kamakshiamman Kulam. Each kulam is affiliated to a deity.
