It Starts in the northern section of the county and ends in the Hudson River. The average leval of water for the creek is about three feet, with flood stage at about eight feet. The record water leval for the Wappingers Creek was nineteen feet on august 19, 2005. About half way down the creek there is a lake, Wappinger lake, which is fed by the creek, then turns back into the Wappinger Creek.
