Vandalism

Why do people take[REDACTED] so seriously? I'm not trolling or anything I just want to know. It isn't as if anyone else other than[REDACTED] editors actually treat it as a serious source of information, because it won't ever be. Over half the traffic through wikipedia's servers are people who have something to do with[REDACTED] rather than people using it as a reference tool.. what do you think about that? Essentially, my point is, if "wikipedians" left it alone, it would drop out of existence fairly quickly. Just looking for an alternative point of view.. although I expect this comment will either be expunged or I will receive a nasty reply.

The above comment was NOT vandalism - why did you remove it? Are you afraid of criticism? Are you unable to enter into a balanced debate?

Thanks for (eventually) replying. Your response is indicative of the Misplaced Pages community as a whole: Firstly if you do not like something, you remove it, and accuse whoever posted the comment of vandalism. You use emotive and strong language like "harassment". You cannot claim harassment if one comment only has been posted. Harassment implies repeated unwanted contact over a period of time. This did not happen. Responses like this are what prevent me from being able to contribute to such a project: I could not, in good conscience, put my name toward such an endeavour as this unless there were a serious rethink of the rules of conduct.

As a word of advice, feedback you have asked for is not worth asking for. The true value comes when you haven't asked. Please take this to heart before you delete it.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.140.186.215 (talkcontribs)

He's said his peace, fine and dandy. He went around adding vulgarities to articles and getting pissed at me for correcting them, that's his choice. I fixed them, said my peace, and have nothing left to say. Yahnatan 23:33, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Tawkerbot2

Sorry it issued you a warning. It was running in test mode, still issuing warnings but making no edits. There was a small problem with the code around detecting redirrects. I believe it is fixed. Please let me know if you encounter any other problems. joshbuddy 00:55, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Jehovah in the New Testament page move

It appears you did a cut-and-paste page move, which is 'bad' because it stops the 'new' article from having a complete page history. This is needed for Misplaced Pages's license. I've placed a tag on it to have its history merged, but in future just use the 'move' tab, found next to 'history' at the top of the page. Thanks, Petros471 19:54, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip! Yahnatan 21:06, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Jesus in Islam

Hi Yahnatan,

As you'd expressed an opinion regarding Jesus/Isa translations about a month ago, I invite you to stop by Jesus in Islam (formerly Isa) and offer your review of my recent changes.Timothy Usher 02:46, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Reminder...

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

CAIR again

Hi Nloth, Yahnatan, Andjam, PeruvianLlama,

There's another POV pusher on the CAIR article; I'm contacting you because you've recently been involved in maintaining the article. I've tried to talk things out with the guy, but he remains dedicated to removing important information from the article, and I don't have the time to deal with his long screeds and shifting rationales. Could you maybe help out here? I confess I've lost my patience with him, but would be happy to help if you could join in the discussion and brewing edit war.

Thanks,

House of Yahweh

  • Hey, I just wanted to thank you for helping revert the absurd HoY vandalism. Since nothing we do seems to deter the IP's, I've requested that the page be semi-protected (again). -- Chabuk 19:47, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Talk:Bow tie

Hi,

You may have an interest, since I saw your name in the history list of the Bow tie article: There's a separate article, List of bow tie wearers and an admin is suggesting deleting it. When I looked into the Bow tie page, I found there's already a list there. I don't have an opinion on which list should remain, but one really should go. I'd appreciate your advice on the Talk:Bow tie page, if you're interested and have the time.Noroton 00:59, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

John Gerstner

I saw you added Knox Seminary to the places John Gerstner taught. Are you sure you're not confusing him with his son of the same name who taught there? --Flex (talk|contribs) 16:19, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Gerstner Sr. did complete his career there. I had a friend (now a PCA minister) who had a class with Gerstner the elder. Yahnatan 23:54, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok! Say, would you mind lending your thoughts to Talk:Presbyterian_Church_in_America#Rick_Nutt_quote? --Flex (talk|contribs) 14:01, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your reversion on the "Peter Ruckman" page. Glad to make your acquaintance. We have some of the same interests, although I'm sure I'm a lot older.--John Foxe 14:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
