Biography
1961 graduated from the Lithuanian Art Institute, studied sculpture with J. Mikėnas. 1962-1997 taught by Čiurlionis School of Art | M. K. Čiurlionis Arts Gymnasium.
Creativity
Early wood carvings (triptych "People of the Homeland", cycle "Uncles", both in 1959, "Railwaymen" in 1961) are characterized by an expressive, rough form, laconic and precise characteristics of the characters, the influence of folk carving. Later works, especially memorial ones, of generalized forms, are characterized by monumentality and emotionality. Created monuments, chamber sculptures, sculptural portraits, decorative reliefs.
Since 1958 participated in exhibitions. His works are in museums in Lithuania, Russia and Germany.
