Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Misplaced Pages because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Misplaced Pages?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Misplaced Pages for promotion. Misplaced Pages has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Misplaced Pages to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Misplaced Pages administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Request reason:

I am an employee at EC3 Global. I was given the task of adding some information on our company to Misplaced Pages, and therefore created an account under the name EC3 Global. Unfortunately I was unaware that there had been an account about a year ago operating under the name EC3Global that had been blocked. I was also unaware that we should not use EC3 Global as our username. I have been told that the account I made has been blocked as I was posting promotional material for our organization. I understand that some aspects of what was written in the text could be considered bias and promoting EC3 Global and the EarthCheck program, and that all pages and articles on the website should remain neutral and unbias. This was an honest mistake, and I can assure you that I was not intentionally posting promotional material. My intention was to provide users with a clear description of the business and the services we provide. I see now that the way in which I presented this description was inappropriate. If unblocked, I will ensure that the information presented under EC3 Global and EarthCheck will be factual and non-promotional. We would like not only to post new information, but we would like to update some information already existing on Misplaced Pages regarding STCRC that is no longer relevant. It is for this reason that I would like to request the unblocking of this account. If unblocked, we would like to put up basic descriptions of our organization and update existing information regarding EarthCheck that is outdated, as it is only our intention to put out clear and easily-accessible information, not to use the website as a promotional device.

Decline reason:

Misplaced Pages does not permit organisation-based accounts (please see WP:BFAQ#ACCOUNT). More generally, editing articles on your own business or other organisation is strongly discouraged (please see Misplaced Pages:Conflict of interest). Given that the text you originally added was, by your own omission, promotional and you still intend to write about your company on behalf of your company, I don't see any reason to unblock you.
