Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Misplaced Pages articles, as you did to Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Doing so violates Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Diff: We're not interested in editors' personal evaluations of critical response. This sort of thing must be attributed to a mainstream publication. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:50, 28 September 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 3

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Zakir Hussain (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

changes to be done in Vijay(actor) article

Its sounds odd mentioning his old title illayathalapathy and then mentioning recently as thalapathy so could you just mention it as "he is referred to by fans and media as thalapathy commander". removing the bubblegum sentence. thanks.Vertercas (talk) 09:02, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

one more important change in Early life and family in Vijay(actor) article

"His sibling Vidhya's story is depicted in Sachien" not sukran. wheareas sukran is completely different film. sachien is a film in which a small girl like his sister dies actually the sourced article made a mistake in movie name remove that improper source. thanksVertercas (talk) 17:21, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

notable sentences to be mentioned in the lead section of Vijay(actor) article

-Apart from playing protagonistic roles in most of his films, he has also played antagonistic roles in his films such as priyamudan and azhagiya tamilmagan.

-few of his notable cult film works include shahjahan and pokkiri. thanksVertercas (talk) 18:19, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

source for pokkiri cult following https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/kerala/a-star-fans-and-the-cult-of-celebrity/article19699583.ece#!

Vijay actor article 2017-present section add the U.S earnings the below line

"His three films Theri, Mersal and Sarkar have collectively earned more than US$3 million at the U.S box office". thanksVertercas (talk) 17:06, 6 February 2019 (UTC) source: https://www.ibtimes.co.in/sarkar-box-office-collection-day-16-vijay-murugadoss-film-enters-1-million-club-us-786059

Vijay actor article changes

Vijay is an Indian born British actor source:https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/categories/bmd_marriage/?name=Venkatagiri_Chandrasekaran

through marrying a british woman he holds british passport his nationality is british. can you make the above changes--Jugmanto (talk) 15:31, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

@Jugmanto: Hello there. Just because Vijay is married to a British Sri Lankan lady does not mean he is British by nationality. Nor do any other sources state so. Hence this suggestion will be vetoed. M15s09 11:22, 17 February 2019 (UTC)

@M15s09 check Vijay discography they have accepted it based on the above source. he is like actor akshay kumar who is indian born but holds Canadian nationality sameway Vijay holds british nationality he is a NRI and Britain allows dual citizenship. my regards please do make the changes in the main Vijay article.= mentioning "Vijay is an Indian born British actor".--Jugmaestro (talk) 08:13, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

one more thing his sibling's image is depicted in sukran not her story.do make that change as well thanks--Jugmaestro (talk) 15:28, 18 February 2019 (UTC)

@M15s09: Jugmaestro has been indeffed for evading a previous block. In case this comes up again, a couple of notes: we don't use public records as references, per WP:PRIMARY. Further, just because someone marries someone from another nation doesn't mean their citizenship changes automatically. Did the British Sri Lankan lady become Indian? Lol. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:09, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb:Thanks for the info. I didn't actually consider Jugmaestro's suggestions to be valid for two reasons; firstly if Vijay had British citizenship, people of Tamil Nadu, especially his fans would boil over (a fact as I am from the place myself) and flood him in oceans of controversies, calling him unpatriotic and names etc. Secondly, the sources that I've gone through state no mention of his nationality as "British." Very little is known about Vijay's wife, except that she is British by nationality and Sri Lankan by ethnicity. It could be that either she may have given up her citizenship after her marriage in favour of her husband, or she could be visiting the UK often without nullifying the citizenship, the latter of which seems more sensible. Otherwise, his personal life is not to be considered a matter of concern. M15s09 13:33, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to complementary and alternative medicine, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Misplaced Pages’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Misplaced Pages administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. tgeorgescu (talk) 02:00, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
