Belinda Kikusa Kandy (born 12 October 1980), known professionally as Bellevue Kandy is a Congolese actress, director, producer, and screenwriter.

Early life

Kandy was born on October 12, 1980, in a maternity hospital in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Her father, Joseph Kandy, died when she was just three months old, leaving her and her eight siblings in the care of their mother, Luisa Nzumba Kinduelo, who died in 2016.

Kandy graduated from the National Institute of Arts (INA)

Career

After completing her studies, Kandy joined the Simba group under the leadership of Elombe Sukari, a prominent figure in Congolese theater known for his association with the Salongo movement. Groupe Simba included an ensemble of comedians and actresses, among them Yandi Mosi, Lule, Décor Ilonga, Milo (Mimie Loleka), Lea Ndaya, Ursule Peshanga, Maman Kalunga, and Bellevue.

Mimie Kabongo, Maman Kalunga, and Décor also appear in the Congolese sitcom Chez Coco. Kandy appeared in the Ivorian television series Ma Grande Famille alongside Michel Gohou, Michel Bohiri, and Clémantine Papouet.

At the 2021 Nzonzing Awards event, held at the Memling Hotel in the Gombe commune, Kandy received recognition for her achievements in the female elite, legend, and expertise categories. In 2022, Kandy was nominated for Best Actress and Best Director at the Nzonzing Awards for her work in Impuissance and Famille Honorable.

Kandy maintains a YouTube channel with over 300,000 subscribers.
