Fontainemore (French pronunciation: [fɔ̃tɛnmɔʁ]; Valdôtain: Fontènemore; Issime Walser: Pischu; Fontanamora from 1939 to 1946) is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").

Toponym

The toponym "Fontainemore" may derive from an old fountain called in French as « Fontaine de Saint-Maur » or « Fontaine de la mort ».

The Gouffre de Guillemore.

Fontainemore is located in the middle of the Lys Valley, near the chasm known as French: Gouffre de Guillemore. It is the most eastern municipality of the Aosta Valley.
