- As of 13 April 2023, no country has formally recognized Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan as de jure legitimate government of Afghanistan although it may change soon
- Afghanistan embassy in PRC is headed by charge d'affaires appointed by Islamic Emirate since April 2022
