Maffian is the first extended play by Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayo Maff. It was released on 15 August 2024 distributed by Empire Distribution.

Background and release

In 2024, Ayo Maff gain international recognition for featuring Fireboy DML on the song "Dealer". Following the recent fame, Ayo Maff released Maffian featuring seven songs with no collaborations.

Critical reception

In a review for OkayAfrica, they wrote that "Now, this storyteller of street realities has released MAFFIAN, a play on his sobriquet. A collection of seven songs, it thrives mainly on Maff’s revelatory perspective and his vocal strength, proving himself a worthy descendant of the Lagos street hop tradition."

In article for P.M. News, Taiwo Okanlawon said "his assurance about being predestined for greatness also manifests".
