Checkmarx is an application security company based in Tel Aviv. Founded in 2006, the company provides a solution to deliver secure software. The products that Checkmarx offer include static code analysis implemented in the software development life cycle (SDLC), open source analysis and secure coding education.

Overview

Checkmarx was founded in 2006 by Maty Siman in Israel. It has built its main R&D center in Israel, another R&D center and research lab in Portugal, and has also hired academics in the field of static program analysis in Eastern Europe, and opened sales branches in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, India and Singapore. The company offers products with the goal of helping organisations that rely on software for their operations to build more secure applications. To promote this goal Checkmarx's products focus on three areas: static program analysis, open source analysis and educating developers about secure coding. The solution offered by Checkmarx runs during the software development phase instead of as a separate entity after the development process has ended.

Checkmarx employs gamification techniques in their solution to encourage developers to write more secure code.

In 2015 Business Insider named Checkmarx as "one of 50 enterprise startups to bet your career on in 2016".
