Sprinx Systems is an IT company that specializes in delivering complex business systems. The company provides development, implementation and post-implementation administration as well as support of its solutions. Sprinx Systems also focuses on the development of web applications, including their hosting and administration; the company is a partner of High Performance Computing products deliveries.
Since its founding in 1996, Sprinx Systems’ products are being used by customers in the Czech Republic and elsewhere around the world. Sprinx Systems is a Microsoft Certified Partner as well as a Kentico Gold Partner.
Sprinx Systems’ main product is SprinxCRM, a business system designed primarily for small and mid-size companies. The solution is sold mainly in Europe and in the United States, and is offered as an online system as well as an on-premise system.
Sprinx Systems also provides its customers with solutions for Call Centers, Helpdesk product, and with portal solutions (web, e-commerce) realized on the Kentico platform.
HPC Solutions by Sprinx Systems
NVIDIA products and services
Since 2008, Sprinx Systems has been distributing NVIDIA products and services, mainly TESLA graphic accelerators and TESLA personal supercomputers. Among the main customers of this segment there are local and foreign companies and also important research and educational institutions, such as the Institute of Geonics of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic (AV CR), Mathematical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Science in Bratislava, Charles University in Prague, Czech Technical University in Prague, Brno University of Technology, Wielkopolskie Centrum Onkologii (the Great Poland Cancer Centre) in Poznan and others.
Data server for the Geophysical Institute of the AV CR
In 2009, during the process of building the national seismic data storage in the Geophysical Institute, Sprinx Systems extended the NEMO cluster by a disc array to total capacity of 60 TB. Sprinx Systems also implemented a mechanism for data backup and replication with the aim to guarantee that stored data will not be lost.
10 TFLops computing cluster for the Astronomical Institute of the AV CR
In 2010, Sprinx Systems delivered a new cluster with computing performance 10,8 TFLops to the Astronomical Institute which extended the previous delivery of the Amálka supercomputer. The system works with 30 TB disc array; due to 768 computing cores Intel Xeon 5600 added with six NVIDIA TESLA C2050 accelerators this cluster has excellent performance. The delivery was realized within the frame of the European Space Agency program for satellite mission BepiColombo.
FLOREO monitoring
The main objective of the FLOREO project – Demonstration of ESA Environments in Support to Flood Risk Earth Observation Monitoring – is to build a system for early forecast of flood risks, both regionally and nationally. One part of the solution makes it possible that monitoring outputs are presented via web portal and map server.
The project was realized in the frame of the Plan for European Cooperating States (PECS) program which allows the Czech Republic to participate on activities of the European Space Agency. A concrete project’s form and content were defined in cooperation with the Czech Hydro-meteorological Institute.
Sprinx Systems was responsible for the project management, development of a national portal, integration of ESA systems as well as design and delivery of HPC computing infrastructure.
Supercomputer Amálka for the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the AV CR
From 1996, Sprinx Systems cooperates with the Institute of Atmospheric Physics. The company’s work concentrates on development of parallel clusters and computing systems. In 2007, Sprinx Systems developed and implemented an extended, fifth generation Amálka supercomputer, equipped with 326 Intel Xeon processors.
NEMO cluster for the Geophysical Institute of the AV CR
Sprinx Systems’ HPC division designed and delivered 128 core NEMO cluster equipped with the latest generation four core Intel Xeon processors for the Geophysical Institute. NEMO cluster was the first HPC system in the Czech Republic fitted with the first-rate parallel superstructure Matlab – Star-P by Interactive Supercomputing.
Hubert System for the Institute of Geonics of the AV CR
In 2008, the HPC division designed a 32 core Symmetric Multiprocessing system called Hubert for the Institute of Geonics. Hubert is equipped with the latest generation Shanghai quad-core AMD Opteron processors and with 128 GB RAM. The system is also supplied with NVIDIA TESLA Graphic Processing Unit technology, NVIDIA CUDA development environment and parallel superstructure for Matlab – Star-P.
Dual Segmented Langmuir Probe for the Astronomical Institute of the AV CR
Dual Segmented Langmuir Probe (DSLP) is a Czech experiment, one of the scientific experiments launched in November 2009 on the PROBA-2 satellite by the European Space Agency (within the PECS/PRODEX program). The experiment was managed by the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic – other institutes and departments that co-operated on the project were: Research and Scientific Support Department of the European Space Agency, European Space Research and Technology Centre in Dutch Noordwijk as well as two Czech companies – Czech Space Research Center and Sprinx Systems.
